Rep Donates Relief Items To flood Victims In Jigawa

A federal lawmaker from Jigawa state, Magaji Da’u Aliyu has donated relief materials, valued at about N19 million to the victims of recent flood in his constituency.

Aliyu, an engineer and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Power, represents Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency made the presentation to the over 100,000 people displaced by the flood in the constituency.

Speaking at the flag off of the distribution of the relief materials, the lawmaker sympathized with victims and urged them to accept the disaster as an act of destiny

He said that the devastating adverse effect of the flood were enormous, and the victims are in dear need of assistant.

Aliyu noted that he deemed it as member representing the area , it is a moral responsibility upon him and any well to do person to complement the government efforts in providing relief materials to the victims.

The presented the food the relief materials to the nine district heads from the two local governments that constitute the constituency for onward distribution to the victims in their areas.

The materials included 800 bags of 120kg Maize, cocking oil, rice, roofing sheets, nails and other relief materials.

He then told the victims that, the relief materials is provide aims at reducing the hardship the are facing but not to compensate their lost.

He prayed Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to over 130 people who lost their lives and also prevent such occupancies in the future.
