President Tinubu Condoles Chief H. O. Davies’ Family Over Deceased Matriarch, Mourns Elder Statesman Amadu Na-Funtua

President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the family of the late Chief Hezekiah Oladipo Davies Q.C. over bereavement of their matriarch, Mrs. Augusta Olujoke Davies.

Mrs. Davies, who passed away at the venerable age of 90, was the wife of Chief H.O. Davies, one of Nigeria’s founding fathers; a lawyer, journalist, and former Minister of Industries.

The President described the departed matriarch, who is the mother of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Goka, former Deputy Managing Director of Agip Oil, as an illustrious daughter of the nation who lived a full life dedicated to the Almighty and to the service of her family and community.

President Tinubu commiserated with the entire Davies family, as well as the Oluwole family and the Ogunmade ruling house of Lagos.

The President prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased, while consoling her family to take solace in her enduring legacies.

Similarly, President Tinubu extended condolences to the Government and people of Katsina State over demise of elder statesman and long-reigning Sa’in Katsina, Alhaji Ahmadu Abdulkadir.

The deceased, better known as Amadu Na-Funtua, was a renowned leader, politician, and businessman.

President Tinubu stated that the contributions of the late Na-Funtua to community building and development would long be remembered.

The president prayed for Allah’s mercy on the soul of the deceased and comfort for his family.
