The Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) has launched Women of Pension Network (WOPEN) to bridge the prevailing gap between seasoned female industry leaders and aspiring young professionals

The launch took place in a hybrid event in commemoration of the 2024 International Women’s Day with theme “Inspire Inclusion.”

The gathering attracted female professionals from both within and beyond the pension sector to delve into themes resonating with women in the workplace.

Themed “Accelerating Gender Parity in the Workplace,” the event boasted two engaging panel sessions: “Women as a Solution to Nigeria’s Economic Challenges” and “Drivers Seat: The Role of Women in Digital Transformation.”

These discussions, facilitated by female experts within the pension industry, dissected pressing issues confronting women in both professional settings and broader society.

According to PenOp, the launch of the Women of Pension Network (WOPEN) seeks to furnish guidance, support, and development opportunities to burgeoning female talents within the sector, empowering them to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.

Mrs. Anana Emanuel Esq., Chairperson of NLPC PFA and the event’s keynote speaker, underscored her enduring interest in gender parity.

Amidst advocating for equity and fairness, she articulated a vision of a world where every woman and girl can exercise their freedom, make choices, and realize their rights – from living free from violence to earning equal pay for equal work.
