Three political parties have demanded that the entire cancellation of the 25th February, 2023 presidential election as well as the stepping aside of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
The parties include the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC), on behalf of six other political parties.
Those who made presentations at the press conference purposely organised to air their grievances include the PDP National Chairman, Sen. Ayorchia Ayu, Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, Sen. Dino Melaye, Emeka Ihedioha, Dr. Ralph Nwosu and others.
They are argued that the results of the election from the polling boots have been compromised adding that Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has lost confidence and trust of the people.
They demanded the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari and the appointment of an interim INEC Chairman from outside the Commission to preside over conduct of fresh national election.
They argued that the cost sustaining the present compromised election results would be grievous than the cost conducting a a fresh transparent and credible election.
