The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended its proposed nationwide protest for Thursday and February 2.

The NLC said it took the decision at its National Executive Council meeting on Tuesday morning.

Congress said the decision to suspend the protest was based on the suspension of the proposal to stop the subsidy on petrol by the Federal Government.

President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba broke the news at a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said members of the NLC who had been mobilized would be demobilized following the decision to suspend the protest.
