In a bid to enhance public awareness and understanding of insurance in Nigeria, the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas, embarked on a significant step by paying a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

The purpose of the visit was to explore avenues for collaboration between the two organizations in educating Nigerians about the importance and benefits of insurance. During the meeting, Mr. Olorundare Sunday Sunday and Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu recognized the strategic significance of leveraging their respective networks and platforms to reach out to Nigerians across the country.

Issa-Onilu emphasized the importance of utilizing NAICOM’s existing structure, reach, and understanding of localities to effectively disseminate information about insurance. He pledged the full support of NOA in working closely with NAICOM to achieve this goal.

In a touching moment, he shared a personal testimony of how insurance had come to his aid in 2007 when his private car was stolen. According to him, his claim was promptly settled, highlighting the real-life benefits of being insured.

With NAICOM and NOA committed to the cause, the collaboration holds the potential to positively impact the lives of Nigerians by ensuring they have the right orientation and understanding of insurance.
