LG Polls: LG Polls: APC Receives PDP, NNPP Decampes In Jigawa

Ahead of October 5 local government council elections in Jigawa state, hundreds of supporters of the two main opposition political parties have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Umar Namadi, who received the decampes from the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP) at the Northwest zonal campaign rally at Gumel on Tuesday, urged them to vote the candidates of the party during the polls to consolidate on its success in the state.

The governor described the huge turnout of party members as a manifestations of satisfaction and confidence the people of the zone have on APC and his government.

” I am impressed with the larg turnout of APC members and good people of Jigawa state to our Gumel Zonal campaign, I hope you will also come out in mass to vote for APC candidates in the forthcoming 5th October local government council election in the state”

” For those who decamped to APC today for appreciating the development project and program we have been doing in the state we assured them that APC will continue to work for the improvement of social and economic life of Jigawa state people and Nigeria at large ” Namadi stated

However, Namadi urged Jigawa people to give more support to his Government and federal government in their quest to liberate the citizens from the current social and economic challenges.

In his speech at the occasion the party deputy state chairman Alhaji Nasiru Jahun told the gathering that, the 12 point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi has already started yeilding fruitful results, maintain that electing APC candidates at all the 27 local government of the state will enhance the implementation of the agenda design to make Jigawa state prosperous and Great.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of the party’s flags to the 12 local government chairmanship candidates of APC in the senatorial zone. They included Gagarawa, Babura, Ringim, Sule Tankakar, Gumel, Maigatari, Garki, Taura, Kazaure, Yankwashi, Roni and Gwiwa.
