Kiyawa Buried Amid Eulogy, Praises

Thousands of sympathizers and mourners on Sunday attended the burial of the late senatorial candidate of Jigawa South West of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Tijani Ibrahim Kiyawa.

The late former House of Representatives member, who died on Saturday at the National Hospital Abuja reportedly of kidney-related disease was the sole senatorial candidate in the recently conducted senatorial primaries for Jigawa South-West.

The body of the late former politician arrived at his hometown in Kiyawa at exactly 5:30 pm enroute Abuja for funeral prayers. He was buried at about 6:30 pm

Security agents had hectic time controlling the crowd, which gathered at the Kiyawa township Central Primary School.

The crowd was so much that it became difficult to bring the body out for the Jana’iza prayers, as result of which the prayers were held inside the bus. The prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Kiyawa, Sheik Ja’azu Ibrahim.

The funeral prayers were attended by the state deputy governor and governorship candidate of the APC, Umar Namadi, and his New Nigerian People’s Party, ( NNPP) counterpart, Aminu Ibrahim Ringim

Others included the running mate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Dr. Ibrahim Babandi Gumel; the APC governorship candidate in Katsina state; incumbent senator for the zone, Sen. Sabo Muhamnad Nakudu as well the senatorial candidate of the APC for Jigawa Northwest, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini.

Also present were a prominent businessman Alhaji Isa Gerawa, members of the national and state assemblies from the state, Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Muhamnad Sanusi among other political figures from within and outside the state.
