Jigawa Hosts Investment Summit To Unlock Growth In Agriculture, Energy, Industries

As part of its efforts to attract foreign capital into the state, the Jigawa state government will host the Jigawa State Investment Summit on 1st and 2nd July 2026 under the theme “Unlocking Opportunities: Driving Sustainable Growth for a Better Jigawa.”

 

 

Sagir Musa, the State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture who led the state government officials during a press conference held at the state NUJ Secretariat on Monday, disclosed this.

 

 

He said that the event is aimed at showcasing the state’s economic potential and position Dutse International Airport as a global cargo hub linking Jigawa to markets in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and beyond.

 

 

Musa, who chairs the publicity committee of the submit said the forum would draw policymakers, development partners, investors, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and industry leaders to explore opportunities in agricultures renewable energy, Medium and Small MSMEs and light manufacturing, and social services in education and health.

 

 

This landmark event reflects the unwavering commitment of the Government of Jigawa State to fostering economic transformation, attracting strategic investments, and creating sustainable opportunities that will improve the lives of our people.

 

 

This summit is not merely an event; it is a call to partnership and collective action. We believe that sustainable economic growth can only be achieved through collaboration between government, the private sector, development institutions, and the people.

 

 

He added that Jigawa’s vast mineral resources, including crude oil, fertile agricultural land, and a young workforce, form the base for planned investment drives.

 

 

Muda further noted that the completion of the Kano-Dutse rail line woulfdstrengthen the value chain by supporting both small and large industries through financing from the Bank of Industry.

 

 

He noted that the state government also expects Chinese firms to set up solar panel production in the state in projects worth billions of naira, further boosting industrial growth and energy capacity.

 

 

He added that the summit would feature high-level discussions, sector presentations, investment showcases, and business networking sessions designed to attract strategic partnerships.

 

 

“On behalf of the government and people of Jigawa State, organizers assure investors of a business-friendly environment built on transparency, ease of doing business, and sustainable development.

 

 

“The summit is a call to partnership to accelerate economic transformation and improve livelihoods across Jigawa”, he concluded.
