The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has disclosed that it will install a brand new 33kV Current transformer and Circuit Breaker on its 30MVA 132/33kV power transformer in Suleja 132/33kV Transmission Substation, Niger State.

The installation which is to be effected on Monday 29th November 2021will be carried out in-house by TCN’s maintenance engineers between 10 am to 6 pm.

However, the TCN in a statement by the General Manager (Public Affairs), Mrs Ndidi Mbah, notified the public that the 45MVA, 132/33kV transformer 2 (TR2) in the same substation would be temporarily interrupted for two hours within the proposed 6-hour time frame to ensure safe working space.

Also, she said there would be a planned interruption of bulk power supply to AEDC through the Suleja Transmission Substation to enable TCN engineers to carry out the installations, explaining that only 26MW supplied at 33kV to the Abuja Steel Company would be interrupted during the installation process.

TCN assured that supply will be restored through the substation after the engineers have completed installation works.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) had before now revealed that it would embark on rehabilitation and replacement of old Circuit Breakers in the nation’s transmission network.

It explained that the project is geared towards further improving bulk power transmission to distribution load centers nationwide.
