…Gives automatic Hajj seat for 2025

For rare display of honesty and integrity, the Jigawa state governor, Umar Namadi has recommended a Jigawa-based journalist with the State Media outfit, Abba Sa’ad Limawa for national honours.
In addition, the state government has in appreciation offered him an automatic fully funded state government Hajj slot for the year 2025, to serve as a morale booster
The governor, who disclosed this while receiving the reports of the 2024 Hajj Exercise from the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, the Amirul Hajj at the Government House, Dutse, noted that the display of sincerity by Limawa in handing over the money was a reflection of Jigawa spirit
Limawa, a management staff of the Jigawa State Radio Corporation, (JRC) had during the just- concluded 2024 Hajj operation, found money running into millions of naira and handed over same to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
The monies, which are in various international denominations included $ 900 US, 5000 Russian Rubble and SR 2000, Saudi currency were found around the vicinity of the Holy Prophet’s Mosque in Madina before they were handed over to the NAHCON Management.
According to the governor, “We have been getting national recognition by the display of patriotism and sincerity by one of our sons by name, Abba Sa’ad Limawa. It is only by the guidance of Allah SWT for somebody to have found such a huge amount of money and hand it over to the authorities in Saudi Arabia.
” So, we thank Allah SWT for guiding Limawa and we pray this is the door to his entering Janatul Fridaus
Namadi said the Hajj seat is just a part of the rewards the government planned for Limawa for being a worthy ambassador of the state and Nigeria while on official duty outside the country.
“Abba Sa’ad Limawa is honoured, and we will do everything possible to honour him on our part. If Allah spares our life for the next year, he will have another free Hajj seat that will be fully sponsored by the Jigawa State Government,” the governor said.
The governor, who lauded the 2024 Hajj Team for.a job well done described the exercise as the most successful in the history of the state.
He also maintained that the success of the Hajj delegation was not surprising given the the experience and the leadership quality of the Amirul Hajj as the chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Emirs.
Earlier while submitting the report, the Emir commended the various financial interventions of the governor especially during instability in the currency exchange on the heels of the departure ok f the pilgrims.
According to the monarch, the offer of over N1.2 billion to Jigawa pilgrims went a long way in assisting in the planning of the exercise, which made the exercise hitch-free.
He said, “I have served in this capacity for more than three times, but I have never experienced the kind of success as recorded in this year and all thanks to the support and assistance by the governor and I pray God will strengthen him and his administration alright.”
