Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Jigawa state, Malam Umar Namadi and his family on the Christmas day death of his mother Maryam and Boxing day death of his eldest son Abdulwahab.

Accompanied by the wives of the Vice President, Nana Shettima and Speaker of the House of Representatives Fatima, Sen. Tinubu described the deaths as something that was ordained by God Almighty.

She said “I’m here to personally condole with the governor in the passing of his beloved mother, Hajia Maryam, also my sister here  ( the governor’s wife) on the passing of her son, Abdulwahab.

“What can I say, it is God that owes all of us and when He makes us mothers, it is part of His grace, therefore anytime He can call anyone of us and I believe that no matter how long we live, it is God that assigns to us when we’ll depart this world.

“I believe that was Abdulwahab’s time so we can only pray to comfort you the mother, comfort the father, the government and entire people of Jigawa for the loss.”

Responding the governor expressed gratitude to the first lady for the visit, describing it as highly inspirational.

He recalled that the President had earlier sent a high-powered delegation from Abuja led by the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima. Similar, the first lady also sent a delegation led by the VP’s wife to condole with the family saying that the physical presence of the first lady was an indication of the love of the first family for him personally and the people of Jigawa state.”

He appealed to the first lady to convey their heart- felt appreciation to the president for his concern for the people of the state during their trying moments.
