…Insists on timely completions

As the countdown to the first anniversary of the present administration begins in Jigawa state, the governor Malam Umar Namadi has intensified inspection of ongoing road projects across the state.
The projects, most of which were carry over from the last administration, involves mainly rehabilitation and reconstruction of the roads and bridges damaged by the flooding in the last two years numbering about 26 spread across the three senatorial districts in the state.
The governor’s action is coming against the backdrop of claims by opposition parties that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration of Namadi appears not to have woke up from it’s slumber and execute developmental projects for the benefit of the people of the state.
The ongoing road projects inspected by the governor are located in Auyo, Kafin Hausa, Hadejia Buji, Gwaram Kiyawa among others and on each stoppage, he insisted for timely completion of the works for the benefit of public.
Speaking with various contractors Governor Namadi expressed satisfaction n on the quality of lthe job at the site and urged them to speed up the work for a timely completion.
The governor told the contractors that that the state was ready to continue to patronizing any company that demonstrated seriousness and sincerity in handling it’s work.
“We will not joke in paying your money as soon as you completed the work how ever we will not tolerate or accept any breach of contractual agreement particularly on quality and timely completion in according to the specification.”
Namadi assured the Jigawa state people that, his government will ensure the completion of all the ongoing road projects and award new ones to facilitate the movement of goods and services for social and economic development.
While shedding more lights, the state Commissioner for Works and Transport Engr. Gambo Malam said, the ongoing road projects have a total distance of 360 kilometers, while in some roads the works included rebuilding of collapsed bridges and provisions of new ones .
He added that several measures taken in the reconstruction of the roads and bridges damaged by the flood to prevent such problem In case of any flood in the future..
Meanwhile, the contractors handling various road projects across the 27 local government areas of the state have assured the state governor that, they would deliver quality jobs and in a good time.
