Fagbohun Reacts As Alumni Set To Erect His Statue In LASU

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun SAN has reacted after the institution’s Alumni Association revealed its plan to erect his statue in the heart of the University.

The Association’s Chairman, Lagos Branch, Mr. Omolara Oladipupo disclose the plan at the LASU Coconut Breaking festival held recently at the institution main campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The festival is an integral part of LASU convocation ceremony as the institution holds its 24th convocation.
In reaction to the association’s initiative,

Fagbohun noted that the Alumni is a very critical stakeholder of the university.

He said ” This initiative coming from the Alumni is very humbling for me and I am so appreciative to them that they find me worthy of wanting to erect my statue in the institution.

“I feel very humbled and I want to thank them from the depth of my heart, I wasn’t expecting it.

“What this tell me is anywhere I continue to find myself I should continue to do my own modest bit to add value to that system,” He said.

On his time and tenure as the 8th substantive vice-chancellor of Lagos State University, he said “I am fulfilled”

In 27 days I will be stepping down and I as it again, I am fulfilled. And each and everyone of you made that possible.

“I thank the alumni for being supportive and making sure that we keep the dream of our founding fathers alive.”

Alumni, you are best positioned to ensure that what we have started does not fail. There so many things you can do. You are positioned to call us, management account. Positioned to get government to be interested in this institution.

You are positioned to caution evil doers, those who enjoy crisis in this university. You have everything to sustain the vision. He urged

You are the strongest critical stakeholder in the LASU project. And that is why this coconut breaking ceremony us a critical component of our convocation ceremony. He posited.

On the aim of the initiative, the Chairman Lagos branch, LASU Alumni, Omolola Oladipupo Satar said “It is a message to the upcoming serving the University that the Ali is watching their actions, if they do well we will recongnise them in our own way.

He assured that the consent of every member of the association was gotten before the announcement was made,”
