***Activates Crisis Management Action Plan
The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has urged all Nigerians with bank deposits not to panic as the nation goes through the COVID-19 pandemic crisis period.
It further stated in several tweets through its Twitter handle @NDICNigeria, that withdrawing all the money in the banks and keeping them at home is not the best option.
It said it has activated its Crisis Management Action Plan to prevent any negative impact on its operations and the banks under its supervision.
According to NDIC, “Taking your money out of banks or keeping it at home under the bed should not be an option. The NDIC has activated its Crisis Management Action Plan to prevent any negative impact on its operations and the banks under its supervision.
“The NDIC in collaboration with other relevant agencies will continue to intensify its daily surveillance and risk assessments of licensed deposit taking financial institutions in the country.
“Furthermore, the NDIC has put in place measures to ensure that all depositors, creditors and shareholders of banks in-liquidation can continue to process their claims by filling the verification forms available on the NDIC website http://ndic.gov.ng on the following link:https://ndic.gov.ng/contact-us/claims-verification-forms/… .
