President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has cautioned Nigerians not to allow the gains achieved in combating malaria to slide in course of the nation’s fight against the threatening spread of Coronavirus.
Dangote who is leading the private sector-led fund raising initiatives, the Coalition Against Coronavirus (COCAVID), noted that although malaria prevalence had reduce from 42% to 23% between 2010 and 2018, however stressed that much needed to be done.

“We must not forget and allow the giant strides we have made in reducing the scourge of malaria in our nation slide.
“We are committed to mobilizing resources both within the private sector and other sectors to help eliminate malaria & address the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“I call on the private sector, donors, public sector, NGOs & others to redouble their commitments in eliminating malaria.
“We have seen malaria prevalence reduce from 42% to 23% between 2010 and 2018, but more needs to be done to achieve.”
