COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria Climbs To 184 As Akwa Ibom Contests NCDC Test Result

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed more Ten new cases of #COVID19, giving the total cases so far in Nigeria as 184.

The ten new cases were 7 in Lagos and 3 in the FCT, Abuja

According to NCDC, “As at 08:00 pm 2nd April there are 184 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Twenty have been discharged with two deaths

Statistics of COVID-19 cases from the NCDC showed that currently; Lagos- 98, FCT- 38, Osun- 14, Oyo- 8, Akwa Ibom- 5, Ogun- 4, Edo- 4, Kaduna- 4, Bauchi- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-1 and Benue- 1.

Although, Akwa Ibom state government has disputed the result of the tests carried out on the confirmed five COVID-19 cases in the state by the NCDC, but the NCDC stressed that it has no reason to doubt the authenticity of the test result.

NCDC maintained that the test of the confirmed cases in Akwa Ibom was done in Irua Specialist Hospital, Edo state which is one its best testing centres.
