Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc has renewed the N61.6 million Group Personal Accident Insurance cover for members of the Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE), extending protection for insurance journalists against death, permanent disability and medical expenses.

The insurance cover, which forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, was renewed in June 2026 and will run until May 2027.

Speaking on the renewal, Group Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc, Mr. Eddie Efekoha, said the journalism profession is exposed to various risks and hazards, making insurance protection imperative for practitioners in the course of their duties.

According to him, the policy provides a death benefit of N1 million to the family of any insured journalist who dies, while journalists who suffer permanent disability in the line of duty are also entitled to N1 million compensation.

He added that the policy also covers medical expenses of up to N200,000 for each journalist involved in an accident.

Efekoha noted that the company had sustained the initiative since 2012 through annual renewals and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the cover in recognition of the critical role journalists play in society.

He disclosed that three members of NAIPE had benefited from the policy over the years, underscoring the importance of insurance in mitigating unforeseen risks.

The annual cover, sponsored by Consolidated Hallmark Insurance on behalf of insurance journalists, has become one of the longest-running insurance support initiatives for media practitioners in the country.
