Nigerian comedienne, Mercy Cynthia Ginikanwa, who is better known as ‘Ada Jesus’ has died, just two days after marking her birthday.

‘Ada Jesus’ died on Wednesday following a failed battle with kidney disease.

“Thank you, everyone,” said Harrison Gwamishu, a philanthropist who led a group of Nigerians that took her to the hospital. “Rest in Power, Mercy Nmesoma Nnadi.”

*A Running Battle

The Imo State indigene who gained prominence with skits on the social media platform, Instagram had a running battle with a controversial pastor and Founder of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry, Chukwuemeka Odumeje, also called Indaboski.

Before her demise, ‘Ada Jesus’ had in a viral video accused the Onitsha-based clergyman of conniving with actress, Rita Edochie, to stage fake miracles.

She was diagnosed with a kidney problem that left her incapacitated, months after the development.  Her family later took her to ‘Indaboski’ for deliverance and forgiveness after the pastor reportedly laid curses on her for defaming him.

Although Odumeje was seen in a viral video vowing not to forgive her until she provides evidence to back her claims which many believed was the cause of her sickness, Rita Edochie later posted on her Instagram handle that ‘Ada Jesus’ had been forgiven.

“Ada Jesus, I have forgiven you!” the actress wrote on her Instagram handle. “I am happy that the whole world has seen that Ada Jesus framed all sort of lies and heaped on me.

“I have been vindicated by Ada’s predicament. The good Lord has fought my battle for me. As a result of pleadings from people, particularly my fans, I have forgiven her. Let her beg God for forgiveness and healing.”
