CIIN Holds Family Picnic As President Calls For Creativity, Respect Amongst Insurance Practitioners

The President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Mr Edwin Igbiti has urged employees in the insurance industry to continue to nurture a workplace culture that fosters creativity, inclusivity, and respect.

The President of the council made the call Saturday during its 2023 Annual Family Picnic at the Elegushi Private Beach Lagos, organized by the Institute to celebrate hard work and also an opportunity to cherish the spirit of unity and friendship that defines the Institute.

Meanwhile, the event bagged another achievement after the management of the beach revealed that prior to their patronage they don’t believe in Insurance as they are now fully convinced that it works in Nigeria just as in other countries.

Speaking at the event, the President also urge Insurance practitioners to ensure connection with one another as well as give support when necessary.

“As we go our separate ways and return to our daily lives, I encourage you to carry the spirit of the picnic with you, and to continue to find ways to connect with and support one another.”

“But as we celebrate these triumphs, we must also recognise the importance of a balanced life. Today, at this picnic, surrounded by our families and friends, we are reminded of the reasons we work so hard – to create a better life for ourselves and our loved ones.”

“As we move forward, let us continue to nurture a workplace culture that fosters creativity, inclusivity, and respect. Our Institute’s success is not just about financial gains but also about making a positive impact on the lives of our employees, their families, and the communities we serve,” he said.

The head of brokers unit, Universal Insurance, Rotimi Agibare the impact of the picnic is also to create awareness of insurance operations in the country .

“When we came here to book for these stands many of the workers and management staff do not even know about insurance, they wete asking us what is insurance and if it really work in Nigeria but after tutoring them, they were really excited,” he said.
On the importance of the picnic, he stated that it is to bring all their families together and bri g uniformity of everyone working in insurance indindustry.
