STI Staff Emerges Winner Of Talent Show, CIIN Ambassador

In a vibrant showcase of talent and innovation, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) recently hosted its highly anticipated Nite of Talents event at the Condo Event Center in Lagos.
The event brought together industry veterans, esteemed guests, and exceptionally talented young practitioners for an unforgettable celebration.
Johnson Akorede Olaoluwa of Sovereign Trust Insurance PLC emerged winner of the Talent Nite Show while Osibena Itunuoluwa Olasode John of Noor Takaful Insurance was the 1st Runner up and Salawu Babatunde Oluwatobi of Scib Nigeria & Co. Ltd, 2nd Runner up.
The Chairman of the Council, Mr Edwin Igbiti who spoke on the theme “Future Titan: A Celebration of Young Talent,” emphasized the significance of youth empowerment and creativity.
He championed the exceptional abilities of the young minds present, heralding them as the future leaders of the insurance industry. His call to action resonated deeply, inspiring attendees to embrace innovation and resilience.
Also Speaking, in her welcome address, Mrs. Adetutu Arusiuka, Chairman of the Activities Committee highlighted the pivotal role of young professionals in navigating the evolving landscape of the insurance industry.
Embracing the theme of transformation and change, Arusiuka underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators.
She iterated that the Insurance Nite of Talents started as Miss Insurance Nite where female practitioners showcase their talents and gesture.
“However, it was metamorphosed to Nite of Talents so as to accommodate the male gender into the competition and also bring educational activities in to the nite.”
“It is a platform to illuminate your talents, share your innovative ideas, and network with seasoned professionals who, much like yourselves, once stood at the threshold of a promising career, burning with ambition and ideas. It is a unique opportunity to meld the wisdom that comes with experience with the innovative spirit of youth, creating a vibrant tapestry that will enrich our industry,” she said.
The outgoing Ambassador, Mrs fadiat aderonke Coker, in her hand over speech to Olaoluwa, the winner of the Talent Show and new Ambassador, iterated that during her tenure, the Council embarked on impactful initiatives to raise insurance awareness and empower communities.
She stated that through targeted seminars for SMEs and events in secondary schools, the CIIN emphasized the importance of insurance coverage and risk management, paving the way for a more resilient economy and future generation of insurance professionals.
According to her, these projects exemplify the dedication of the CIIN and its partners in promoting financial literacy and ensuring the prosperity of Nigeria’s insurance industry.
As the outgoing Ambassador, gratitude was expressed for the collaborative efforts that contributed to the success of these initiatives, signaling a promising future for the CIIN under new leadership.
