President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the Vice presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, a former Borno state governor.
Buhari made the endorsement Sunday when Presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu intimated him on his choice while in Daura, Katsina state to pay Sallah homage to the President ahead of the public announcement.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu, said it was a mark of honouring the President with information on Tinubu’s choice of running mate, Sen. Kashim Ibrahim Shettima.
Shehu further said after conferring with President Buhari, the APC Presidential Candidate, accompanied by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, told newsmen that the President had to be properly notified, before an announcement would be made.
Asiwaju said the choice was based on the competence of the candidate.
