BREAKING: Unknown Gunmen Abducts Professor, Five Others From UNIABUJA Staff Quarters

Unknown Gunmen at early hours of Tuesday morning invaded the Staff quarters of the University of Abuja, kidnapping a professor, his two children and about three others.

The operation by the yet to be identified gunmen took place at the senior staff quarters at Giri in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at about 1 a.m Tuesday.

The gunmen were said to have operated undisturbed for more than hour.

Sources identified the abducted Professor as Joseph Obansa, a professor of economics.

The University spokesman, Habib Yakoob was said to have confirmed the the attack, indicating that about six persons may have been abducted.

“I just confirmed that the information is true.

Apart from the professor and his children, a non-academic staffer was also involved. They are about six victims,” Mr Yakoob said.
