Following miscalculations on the actual days for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the Federal government has extended public holidays up till Thursday, 11 April, 2024.
The Federal Government had earlier declared Tuesday, 9 April and Wednesday, 10 April as public holidays for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
But a statement from the Ministry of Interior signed by Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary, said the federal government has approved Thursday 11th April, 2024 as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid -El-Fitr.
The statement, however, did not give any reason for the prolonged three days holidays.
The terse statement prolonging the holidays up till Thursday, reads:
