Breaking: EFCC Frees Obiano, Seizes His International Passport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has freed a former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, on an administrative bail, Daily Trust is reporting.

The release of Obiano is coming six days after he was picked up at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Obiano was on his way to the United States of America a few hours after he handed over to his successor, Prof. Charles Soludo, on March 17, 2022 when he was accosted.

According to Daily Trust, an official of the EFCC confirmed Obiano’s release to the newspaper.

The official said Obiano’s “passport was seized by the anti-graft agency as part of his bail conditions
