The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has congratulated its members and Igbos who remembered the Biafra -Nigeria civil war ended 53 year years ago.
It would be recalled that civil war broke out in 1967 and lasted till 1970 with high degree of devastation in the South Eastern states under the then declared Republic of Biafra as declared by the then Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as the Head of State, Biafra on 30th May, 1967.
Consequently, every year 30th May has in one way or the other been marked with emotions as many families lost their loved ones and suffered one form of deprivations or the other during the three years civil war.
IPOB and members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have added more impetus to the remembrance of May 30, 1967 day with series activities organised globally.
