Atiku, Okowa, Tambuwal, Ayu, Others Storm Bamaina For Lamido’s Daughter’s Wedding + Photos

It was a roll call of who-is-who as prominent political figures across the country stormed the Bamaina residence of the former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, at the weekend, when he gave out one of his daughters’ hands in marriage.

Prominent amongst the big names at the occasion included a former vice president and the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate who is governor of Delta state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and many bigwigs of the party.

It was a marriage across the political board as Surraya got married to her heartthrob Yazid Danfulani, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) figure and a serving commissioner of Commerce and Industries in Zamfara State.

The wedding was held at the country home of Lamido, in Baimana, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area. The ceremony was presided over by Kafil Suleiman, the Imam of Bamaina town.

The PDP presidential candidate stood as the bride’s trustee while the Deputy Governor of Zamafara, Senator Nasiha served as the groom’s trustee.

The Chief Imam, Suleiman announced the payment of N100,000 as the bride’s price, after which the trustees of the groom and bride announced their consents to the union.

The groom, Danfulani, is the son of the popular Zamfara business tycoon, Shehu Danfulani, and the owner of Yazid Hotels Limited in Kaduna.

Governors at the event included Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu; and members of the party’s Board of Trustees, (BoT) led by Sen. Walid Jibril.

Other dignitaries are former Vice President, Namadi Sambo; former National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau, and former ministers of Special Duties and Police Affairs: Tanimu Turaki and Adamu Maina.

The former governors of Bauchi Gombe and Kaduna states, Alhaji Isah Yuguda, Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi and Alhaji Lamaran Yero among other dignitaries attending the wedding.
