AIICO Insurance Plc has reaffirmed its dedication to the well-being of its annuity customers by hosting the second edition of its annual Annuitants Forum.

The event, which catered primarily to retirees, highlighted AIICO’s ongoing commitment to building strong relationships with customers who rely on the company for their financial security in retirement.

As part of its holistic customer care efforts, AIICO also provided free health checks and investment tips during the forum, further demonstrating its comprehensive approach to the welfare of its annuitants.

Speaking at the event, AIICO’s Managing Director and CEO, Babatunde Fajemirokun, underscored the company’s mission to provide more than just financial products.

“At AIICO, we don’t just provide products, we provide security, stability, and a future that allows you to thrive. Our commitment goes beyond paperwork and contracts; we see our role as helping you enjoy the fruit of your labour in a manner that is dignifying and empowering,” he said.

Fajemirokun noted that AIICO’s annuity customer base has grown steadily, with the company disbursing N1.3 billion monthly to ensure a reliable income stream for retirees, regardless of market conditions. “This consistency is the hallmark of AIICO’s stability,” he added, emphasizing that AIICO’s annuitants are considered part of the AIICO family.

In a statement signed by Segun Olalandu, Head of Marketing and Communication at AIICO Insurance Plc, the company highlighted the objectives of the Annuitants Forum. “We believe in actively listening to our customers rather than making assumptions from behind our desks. This forum is designed to engage with them directly, allowing us to truly understand their needs and preferences. By hearing their feedback firsthand, we can identify gaps, address concerns, and continually enhance the quality of our service. Their satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities,” the statement read.

Several retirees also shared their positive experiences with AIICO. Chief A. A. Iguoba, retired Deputy Controller with the Nigerian Customs Service and President of the Retired Customs Officers Association of Nigeria, commended the company for its consistent annuity payments. “I retired in 2011 and ever since, I have been plugged into AIICO’s annuity product. AIICO has remained consistent with the monthly payment of my annuity,” Iguoba said.

Mrs. Gloria Jideonwu, a retiree from the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Commission, echoed similar sentiments. “This is my fifth year with AIICO. Since I joined, AIICO has paid regularly—they don’t fail. When it’s time for special celebrations, they even pay in advance so we can have access to funds for those occasions. This programme is educative—they’ve taught us about healthy living and how to invest. It is commendable,” Jideonwu said.

The forum also allowed retirees to provide feedback, ask questions, and seek clarifications on issues of concern. AIICO assured its customers that the annual forum would continue, while also highlighting various other channels available for ongoing communication with the company.
