Agile Practitioners Association of Nigeria has stated that all is set for the association to host the 3rd edition of it’s annual conference, Thursday 5 – Friday 6 March, 2020.
This is just as the Chief Executive Officer/Founder, The Agile Advisor Africa, Mrs. Abiodun Osoba stated that there is no organization in Nigeria that has transformed using Agile.
The conference with theme ‘Accelerate your Delivery’ will hold at the Leisure Building, Landmark Towers, 5b Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos state.
The annual Agile Nigeria Conference is dedicated to furthering Agile principles and providing a venue for people and ideas to flourish.
Speaking on the forth coming event, the Chief Executive Officer/Founder, The Agile Advisor Africa, Mrs. Abiodun Osoba told journalist recently in Lagos that the 3rd edition of the Agile Nigeria Conference, comes on the heels of the hugely successful 2nd edition held recently in Lagos, which attracted over 100 executives, managers, software developers and researchers from over three countries who gathered to hear from recognized experts, authors, innovators and practitioners who offer their unique insight.
“This year’s conference promises to be bigger and better than its previous editions. We have lined up no fewer than 29 subject matter experts from within and outside of Nigeria as speakers. This conference therefore offers an unparalleled opportunity for participants to glean new ideas, share knowledge, and experiences on a truly international stage,” she assured.
She stated that the two-day conference is bundled as Agile DevOps Conference, for great thinkers interested in sharing thoughtful insights on the approach, technologies and tools to develop, deploy and maintain software in Agile environments, while the Business Agility Conference is a revolutionary platform that brings together great speakers, cutting-edge Agile practices and exciting learning opportunities for any domain or industry.
“Please permit me to on behalf of the management of The Agile Advisor Africa to extend our profound gratitude to all of our sponsors and partners for their immense contributions, support and generosity. Without them, we would not have come so far, especially with regards to this conference,” she added.
The ability to quickly adapt is the lifeblood of modern enterprises, and our partnership with Agile professionals in Nigeria will complement our mission to help organizations innovate, improve productivity, and remain relevant in our rapidly changing world, the organization said.
On the Impact of Agile in Organizations in Nigeria, she said “there is no organization in Nigeria that has transformed using Agile.”
However, she stated that there are many organizations that have adopted the agile practices and have started the journey
She said “there are so many things involved so the organization has to make decisions to say we want to do this right or we want to do it and call it Agile. Most people are not ready to do away with the old ways.”
She added that Agile is very premature in Nigeria, the adoption takes a lot because of the strong nature of its principles.
“We are not there yet in Nigeria, we still have more work to do, some part of the world are already there where you listen to whosoever is bringing an idea to the table, because there is value in every idea. We will continue to push to create the awareness of the benefits and values to customer delivery.
She also Nigerians to come on board as volunteers and be Agile Influencers to create awareness of its benefits adding that the association has influencers in several organization in the country.
The Agile Practitioners Association of Nigeria understands that Nigeria needs transformation in both private and public sectors. This much desired change can be achieved using the Agile Methodology, which allows a paradigm shift towards an innovative and problem solving mind set.
Driven by market needs, customer expectations, and evolving technological innovation, today’s constantly changing business environment is forcing companies to adapt their Agile models of management and corporate governance—or risk being left behind. The Agile Practitioners Association of Nigeria, through its partners and members, provides the opportunity that will allow organizations to connect with other industry leaders and jointly share experiences and insights, helping all members and organizations to better navigate the emerging and complicated domain of business agility.
