Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state has expressed outrage over the poor arrangement made in respect of the state government free Ramadan feeding in the state.
The governor made his feeling known during unscheduled visits to several Ramadan feeding centres where he discovered a lot of anomalies, especially around the state capital.
Some of the centres that the governor visited around the state capital included Limawa, Kaci Karnaya Dundubus, where he expressed his displeasure with the modalities the feeding arrangements were being carried out.
Namadi, however, commended some centers for their diligence and commitment to ensuring that the Ramadan feeding programme runs smoothly and effectively.
It will be recalled that the commissioner for Special Duties Auwalu Dankara Sankara had made observation during a visit to some centres last week, where he confirmed the mismanagement of the process and vowed
He also expressed strong disapproval upon discovering instances of mismanagement and inefficiencies in some feeding centres
He emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency, fairness, and proper hygiene in food distribution, urging those responsible to rectify any
shortcomings immediately.
Namadi, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that all Ramadan feeding centers operate optimally, serving the people with dignity and respect.
He also assured that necessary measures would be taken to improve service delivery and address any identified gaps in the programme.
The governor further called on local authorities and community leaders to intensify monitoring efforts to guarantee the seamless execution of the initiative.
He stressed that the welfare of the people remains a top priority for his administration.
