RMAFC Commissioners Pledges Boosting Non-Oil Revenue Generation To Federation Account

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has pledged commitment to the Federal Government’s realization of economic diversification with focus on non – oil revenue generation to the federation account.

The newly appointed Commissioners to the CommissIon gave this assurance in Abuja during their maiden interactive session with the Chairman and other Members of the Commission.

In his speech while welcoming the new members, the Chairman of the Commission, Engr. Elias Mbam on behalf of Management, Members and Staff of the Commission Congratulated the Commissioners for their new appointments.

The RMAFC Chairman assured the new Members that they will work as a team in order to achieve the objectives of their appointments and make their stay in the commission a memorable one, according to a statement by Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Nwachukwu Christian.

Mbam expressed desire that the Commissioners will use their wide range of experiences to boost the Commission’s efforts to boost the revenue generation of the Nation especially this period when Nigeria among other Nations of the world is facing global economic challenges occasioned by global pandemic of Corona Virus, thereby making RMAFC very critical in the economic diversification of the economy mostly through non-oil generating revenue sectors.

In their own response, the new members expressed their readiness to work with management, staff and other members of RMAFC as a team.

They pledged to use their expertise in both formal and informal sectors to add value to the Commission’s efforts in revenue generation and blockages with concentration on diversifying the Nation’s economy from oil to non – oil sectors of the economy.

The six newly appointed RMAFC Commissioners are; Salamatu Mohammed Bala (Adamawa), Hon Alfred Egba ( Bayelsa ), Alhaji Adamu Shetima . Y. ( Borno ), Oladele Semiu Gboyega ( Osun ), Bello Abubakar Wamako. ( Sokoto ), and Ahmed . A. Yusuf ( Taraba ).

This brings the total number of Commissioners appointed to the Commission to 36 including FCT. The Nominee representing Imo state is yet to be confirmed by the senate.
