However, the governor, while addressing the mammoth crowd at the old Sports Complex, maintained that the spade of defections being experienced across the state was a sign of public endorsement of the APC’s developmental programmes and policies as they touch the lives of average citizens.

Namadi used the opportunity to assure citizens and residents that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration at the centre would ensure the timely completion of all the developmental programmes it has started for the benefit of Dutse prolly in particular and the state in general.

He cited the N59.7 billion on going Dutse Greater Water works, on the Kano-Maiduguri Highway passing through Dutse as well as the Maradi Railway works which is also passing through Dutse as sone of the projects that would be completed on schedule.

According to him, “Today, we have received 3, 502 decampees from PDP to APC. Today people from Dutse, Kiyawa, Birnin Kudu and Buji have assured us that the senator representing Jigawa Southwest in the Red Chamber on PDP should start counting his days.

“Similarly, the members of the House of Representatives representing Birnin Kudu/ Buji federal Constituency and Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber on PDP tickets should also start counting their days.

“I said this because of the way the people have assured us that the APC is the only party that will represent them in the national assembly come 2027. Therefore, from I have seen the APC had come to stay in Jigawa state.”

The governor assured the decampees of equal treatment with the old members of the party, noting that the policies of the present administration in the state were not formulated based on partisan affiliations, but for the overall benefits of the residents of the state.

The governor declared: ” I have a special message from our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the people of Jigawa state. He has asked me to inform you that work on Greater Dutse Water Supply already started would be completed on schedule. He also asked me to tell you that work on Railway to Maradi that passes through Dutse will not be stopped.

“He also asked me to assure you that the Kano-Maiduguri Highway passing through Dutse, which has been on for years for which its contract has been reawarded recently would be completed as scheduled.
