Why ADC Cannot Survive Primaries, Jigawa APC Chairman

The Jigawa State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Ahmad Garba has predicted the early collapse of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying that the party was not built on any ideology, but built around individuals’ aspirations.

Speaking to reporters at the stakeholders’ meeting ahead of the forthcoming National Convention of the party in Dutse, Garba, a former deputy speaker of the House of Assembly was optimistic that APC would still repeat its victory with a wider margin compared to its success in 2023.

According to him, “When you talk about the ADC, one is tempted to ask you who are the people in the party , is it not that all the people you hear of are interested in becoming president of the country. None of them is prepared to work for the party’s survival.

“If Atiku does not get the ticket he would run away, similarly if Peter Obi does not get the ticket he would run away and, so also for Rotimi Amaechi, even Amaechi has even made it clear since, so I can assure you that the party cannot survive the aftermath of the Primaries.”

Speaking on the forthcoming convention in Abuja Garba said state was fully prepared to participate participate noting that all arrangements have been concluded to ensure a hitch-free convention that would usher in a rancour-free exercise.

He confirmed that the state was still allocated the position of the National Financial Secretary as well as Zonal Legal Adviser of the party, the positions of which he described as satisfactory.
