Sokoto State Governor, Amuni Tambuwal has nominated Alhaji Manir Dan’Iya as the new Sokoto State Deputy Governor.
Dan’Iya who was the immediate past commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs will replace Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, the former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State
Recall that Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, the former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State has last Wednesday, voluntarily resigned from office.
The state lawmakers unanimously agreed to screen the nominee today (Thursday) during plenary.
Tambuwal, in a letter read on the floor of the house by the Speaker, Alhaji Salihu Maidaji , urged the assembly to confirm the nomination of Dan’Iya, in replacement of Ahmed Aliyu, who voluntarily resigned.
“I wish to nominate Alhaji Manir Dan’Iya, as deputy governor in accordance with the provisions of Section 19(3)(c) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for approval of the House of Assembly,” the letter read in part.
