NSCDC Warns Private Guards Against Flouting Operational Guidelines In Jigawa

The Jigawa state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has warned private security organizations in the state against flouting operational rules.

The newly appointed Commandant of the Corps, Musa Alhaji Mala, who handed down the warning on Tuesday, during his maiden meeting with the executive of the Association of Private Guards Companies in Dutse said stiff sanctions await violators of such rules.

He explained that meeting was part of his efforts to re+invigorate the private guards companies and ensure strict compliance for effective service delivery.

He stressed that the NSCDC was by law charged with the responsibility of overseeing the activities of private guards companies in the country as enshrined in the NSCDC act section 3, subsection b, c, d of 2007 as amended

He therefore, strongly admonished the operators to ensure strict compliance with the laid down rules and regulations as enshrined in the PGC act which include registration of companies, revalidation of expired licenses, prompt payment of employee allowances, use of approved uniforms, display of identification cards, training and retraining of personnel, operating offices within the State, among others.

The Commandant highlighted the significance of private security agencies in the provision of security in the state and the nation at large especially in area of intelligence gathering and sharing. He gave a month ultimatum for them to put their houses in order.

The State Chairman of the Private Guards Companies, Mr. Anthony Michael pledged the cooperation of his members with the Corps, saying they were ready to support the commandant and comply with the issued directives and wished him successful stay whilst the State.

He was accompanied by some executive members of the executive of the association.
