Gunmen Attack Estate In Abuja, Abduct Unspecified Number Of People

Gunmen have attacked an estate in Chicakore close to the Kubwa neighbourhood, a Satellite town in the Bwari area council of the nation’s capital.

The FCT Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident and said officers in the area are combing the bush for the attackers and the abductees.

Although she did not confirm the number of persons abducted, a resident of the area, who wishes to be anonymous, says children and a woman are among those taken away by the attackers.

The resident confirmed that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday.

The police image maker in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is urging residents of the area not to panic, calling on them to help the police with credible information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.
