The Federal University Dutse Alumni Association, (FUDAA) has applauded the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed over the the National Universities Commission (NUC)’s approval of 26 new academic programmes for the institution.
The Alumni body also congratulated the VC over the Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s (TETFund) N1 billion grant to the university to establish innovation hubs.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Bashir Kassim, the President of the association, and made available to newsmen in Dutse, on Tuesday. said the association, was proud of the VC and his principal officers, on the recent National Universities Commission approval of 26 new academic programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
He described the remarkable milestone as a reflection of the VC’s visionary leadership, strategic foresight of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, as well as the tireless dedication of all relevant university’s units.
He also maintained that the development was a significant stride that will broaden academic opportunities and enhance the university’s competitiveness on a national and global scale.
“Furthermore, the Alumni Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Vice Chancellor and the entire university community on the award of N1 billion by the Federal Government for the establishment of innovation hubs and technology parks. This outstanding achievement will serve as a catalyst for technological innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, solidifying FUD’s status as a forward-thinking institution.
“As a body committed to the sustained growth and prestige of our alma mater, we are confident that these achievements will inspire a new era of excellence. We envision a future where FUD graduates evolve into job creators, innovators, and solution providers, contributing immensely to national development”.
While commending the VC, the University’s Governing Council, and the Management team for their focused and purposeful leadership, the president added that the university is steadily rising to meet international benchmarks in teaching, research and innovation.
Kassim further expresses the alumni’s sincere appreciation to the NUC and TETFund for their continued trust and investment in the university.
He therefore, encouraged current and prospective students to continue choosing the university, being a thriving environment of academic distinction, where future leaders and innovators are nurtured.
