The Bureau of Public Service Reforms ( BPSR) has rated high the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO) for good performance.
Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu FNS expressed gratitude to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, stating that such acknowledgement of good performance will encourage and increase productivity and effectiveness in the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry.
He said this while receiving nine (9) tools to further strengthen the operations of NELMCO such as Standard Operating Procedures, Human Resource Policy, Health Safety and Environment Policy, Training Needs Assessment, Performance Management System, Stakeholders Engagement, Perception Survey and Reward System.
Aliyu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Nebeolisa Anako further said the Ministry of Power was open and willing to undertake the self-assessment tool of the BPSR since the self-assessment tool (SAT) was an opportunity for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to recognize their weaknesses and strength as it will guide them in service delivery.
He congratulated NELMCO and encouraged them to keep up the high standard of performance acknowledge by the BPSR.
Speaking earlier, the Director General of the BPSR, Dasuki I Arabi said that the BPSR, an Agency with the mandate to initiate, coordinate, monitor and evaluate reforms across that Nigeria Public Service developed and deployed its Self – Assessment tool to NELMCO in March 2020 in which the deployment analysis rated NELMCO very high on all indices.
While delivering the tools to further strengthen the operations of NELMCO, Arabi said the validation of assessment of NELMCO’s performance was rated as consistently meeting expectations in all essential areas of responsibilities.
Responding, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), Mr. Adebayo Fagbemi expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power for support and assistance which has made the Agency achieves its targeted goals.
He assured the Hon. Minister that the tools received to further strengthen NELMCO’s operations will be perused at a retreat to be organized soon.
