Members of the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) have elected nine members as first substantive executive to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three year tenure.
The election held at Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Council corporate office complex on 30th May, 2025, was witnessed by Representative from FCT NUJ Council, Ms Joy Udem.
She charged the newly elected members to excel in the industry with good leadership style that will accommodate all members of the association and uphold Journalism standards.
The newly elected executive members are: Chairman- Omosola Akingboye; Vice Chairman – Khadijat Ameen; General Secretary- Queen Kunde; Assistant Secretary- Peace Ofeoshi; Treasurer-Lady Joy Odor; Financial Secretary- Augustine Ehikioya; Welfare Officer- Chidiebere Ugwu; PRO – Gbemiga Olamikan and Provost- Moses Akwashiki.
Reacting to the constitution of the newly executive after their swearing in and taking oath of office, the representative of NUJ FCT Council, Ms Joy Idam applauded its gender inclusion noting that women occupied most sensitive positions.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Omosola Akingboye on behalf of other executive members of ACOE, thanked members for the honour and assured that the association will move forward under his leadership.
He promised to work together to reach the targeted goals of the association and commended members for the peaceful conduct of the election which was free and fare.
Akingboye therefore called on the partners and others to expect best from the association, promising that the association would up lift the standard of online journalism.
