Fire Guts Ex-Vanguard Photojournalist’s Home As Entire Property Vanishes

The Abuja home of Vanguard newspaper’s former photojournalist, Mr Abayomi Adeshida, whose beat was State House for many years, was gutted by strange fire on Sunday night.

Several property were destroyed by the fire that broke out while his family members were asleep. Mr Adeshida was out of Abuja when the tragedy struck.

He took to his Facebook wall on Monday to announce the unfortunate incident.

Despite his lost of entire property to the disaster, Adeshida is however, grateful and gave glory to God for sparing the lives of his family members.

Read him: “I thank God for victory over death and sorrow. This was how the year ended in my house where all my woes and worries were consumed by a strange fire incidence today!

“Glory be to the Father! Neighbours rose for us to control the fire before our two industrial gas cylinders could get enough heat to explode and here we are praising God for moving mightily with His hands of grace.

“The year has ended well, and my family and I will continue to serve the living God in good health. No one will be missing in my household and the Lord will always make us conquerors over the plans of the devil.”
