NCDC Confirms 1544 COVID-19 New Cases January 8

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed that 1544 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Friday, 8 January, 2021.

The statistics beefs up the COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria to 97,478 confirmed cases, 78,552 discharged treated persons, 1,342 deaths due to complications from the virus.

While Lagos State had the highest numbers of cases with 739, Plateau state followed with 168 cases.

Others are FCT-153, Oyo-91, Nasarawa-90, Rivers-80, Kaduna-35, Edo-33, Kano-29, Ogun-21, Delta-19, Sokoto-16, Akwa Ibom-1, Ebonyi-11, Enugu-10, Osun-10, Niger-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-8, Katsina-2 and Taraba-1

According to the NCDC, “Our discharges today (8 January, 2021) include 264 community recoveries in Lagos State and 147 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.”
