2019: Babangida Insists Buhari Must Give Way For New Breed, Digital Leadership
Nigeria’s Former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), has insisted on his earlier statement urging President Muhammadu Buhari to step aside by 2019 for new breed and digital leadership to emerge.
Mr. Kassim Afegbua had in a statement released to the public, quoted Babangida as asking Buhari to step down in 2019. However, few hours after the statement, General Babangida purportedly disowned the earlier statement through another statement.
But Afegbua in an interview with ChannelsTV Sunday night, insisted that Babangida maintains his earlier position as contained the earlier statement.
Afegbua said: “The former military president authorised the statement I issued. I didn’t just put out the statement on my own.”
