The Jigawa state government has approved the award of Geo-Survey for the conduct of a condensed geoscience survey focused on Oil, Gas, and Uranium.
This forms part of the Jigawa state government:s commitment to unlocking the state’s full economic potential of its natural resources, to expand its revenue base.
The exercise also involves a comprehensive geoscience survey of Solid Minerals across the state.To enhance the exercise, the state government has committed well over N2.5 billion for the survey
The state commissioner for information Sagir Ahmed Musa, while briefing reporters on the outcome of the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting which approved the said sum at Govt House in Dutse said the strategic initiative of the present administration marks a major step forward in the state government’s commitment to unlocking state tate’s vast natural resource potential.
The survey would provide critical data on subsurface mineral, oil, and gas deposits, enabling informed decisions, attracting investment, and supporting sustainable economic diversification.
The commissioner maintained that the council reiterated the administration’s focus on economic development through the responsible and data-driven exploration of natural resources, adding that by investing in high-quality geoscientific studies, “the state aims to create new revenue streams, stimulate local job creation, and lay a solid foundation for industrial development.
“Also, the Geo-Physical Survey for subsurface mineral, oil, and gas deposits will be delivered by competent professionals in accordance with international best practices and applicable regulations to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and strategic value of the findings”
He added that the state government remained committed to pursuing initiatives that drive inclusive growth, enhance resource utilization, and improve the overall socio-economic well-being of its citizens.
