The Jigawa state government has lived up to its words by finally commencing the payment of the N70,000 new national minimum wage.
The development was confirmed in a signed statement by the Jigawa state Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad Kandira Dagaceri on Tuesday in Dutse.
He said already some workers had received bank alerts of their December salary.
He called on workers in the State to reciprocate the gesture by dedicating themselves to duty and support the Government in order to maintain the existing cordial working relationship.
It would be recalled that, Governor Umar Namadi had during the signing of the agreement with workers’ representatives earlier this month announced the approval to pay the new minimum wage beginning from 1st December, 2024.
