NDE Trains 2, 870 Youths In Jigawa

The National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) is set to commence the training of 2, 870 youths in Jigawa state as part of measures to cut down youths unemployment rate in the state .

This was disclosed by the State Co-ordinator of the Scheme, Hanza Garba in a chat with reporters in his office on Wednesday

The training would cut across the 27 local government areas comprising 287 political wards in which 10 persons would be engaged from each political ward .

Garba added that the training would last between a period of one to three months adding that after the training, deserving beneficiaries would be given financial support ranging from N50,000 to N300,000 depending on the trade skills chosen by the participants .

Moreover, all the participants would receive allowance of N 10,000 monthly within the period of training to enable them offset their transportation expenses.

Garba remarked that the programme was a newly-introduced programme by the Director General Mr. Silas Ali Agoro, which is targetted at 9, 2806 jobs nationwide for various skills acquisition and enterprenuership training in all the 774 local government areas across the country.

He explained that the essence of the programme is to provide multiple job opportunities to the teaming unemployed in the country.

Adding that the beneficiaries of the programme were expected to visit the NDE website for registration and at the same time, visit their Office in the Federal Secretariat Dutse for documentation in to a various programmes and scheme of the agency .

Meanwhile the category of the programme include Newly Small Scale Enterprises (NSSE) which would be engage participant for training targed to start their own business syob .

Adding that there is also a mature people programme (MPP) for retired and those about to retired civil servants and basic business training BBT for artisan .

Other programmes include the women employment promotion which covered the training of women dwellers for income generation activities .

The Co-ordinator added that there is also a vocational skills development department ,this department take care of training unemployed school leavers in to a various vocational training skills which include the training on basic national apprenticeship scheme BNOS .

The other trainings include the advance national open apprenticeship scheme which is responsible in training on digital skills on community based and empowerment scheme .

Adding that under this programme, persons with special need under rural employment promotion will be engaged this department also provide the training and resettlement to beneficiaries .

The other training include the training on agricultural extension scheme and community base agricultural scheme and fish production training scheme as well as fish formulation technique .

The remain under this projects include poultry production training scheme for graduate agricultural empowerment scheme and sustainable agricultural development empowerment scheme .

Garba explained that under this projects there is also sgricultural enhancement scheme and small stock goat production scheme for special public work SPW.

Adding that this department provide the training and empowerment to all beneficiaries of the programme .

In the same vain there is a training of solar energy for graduate attachment programme and graduate coaching scheme and environmental beutification scheme, which comprises the training on plaster of paris, (POP), soft and hard land scaping etc.
