Independence Anniversary: Nigerian Air Force Records Casualty As Two Of Its Aircrafts Crash

Two Aircrafts belonging to the Nigerian Air Force have crashed into rocky  area of Kubwa  Express road, Abuja, this afternoon.

The two aircrafts were taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence  day  anniversary celebrations coming up October 1, 2018.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

” I wish to confirm an air incident involving 2 Nigerian Air Force aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day Celebrations.

Thankfully no lives were lost. Details will be communicated later,” Daramola said..

Although details of the crash are yet to be made known, OPTIMUM TIMES reports that the crashed attracted motorists to the scene as smokes were seen emitting from the spot where one crashed.

While some said the crashed aircrafts were fighter jets,  others said  they were helicopters.
