The Commissioner for Commerce & Industry in the Jigawa state cabinet, Alhaji Salisu Zakari, has died.
He died at the Aminu Kano Teaching hospital, in the neighbouring Kano state following a brief illness.
His special duties counterpart, Auwalu Danladi Sankara, confirmed the death in a statement Friday night on behalf of the state government in Dutse.
He said prior to his appointment as commissioner and subsequent passage, the late Zakari served the state in various capacities, from being a civil servant, he rose to be appointed as the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) Chairman, and later the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.
Meanwhile, Governor Muhamnad Badaru Abubakar in his condolence message to the immediate family of the late commissioner, described him as an honest and dedicated civil and public servant, who lived an honest life
The governor described the late commissioner as a gentleman, who served Jigawa with all honesty and diligence, and “who has been an integral part of the present administration’s achievements.”
He, prayed to Allah SWT to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdausi and also grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
