Former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has asked Nigerians not waste in listening to the current disagreement between the Presidency and the Fiery Catholic Priest, Father Mbaka, alleging that the duo are scammers.
According to Fayose in a tweet, “The Presidency and Father Mbaka are nothing but blackmailers and scammers. They don’t deserve the attention of Nigerians.”
President Muhammadu Buhari has fallen out of favour of Father Mbaka, who claimed that God has rejected the President because of the hardship he brought to the nation and the growing insecurity nationwide.
Mbaka consequently asked the President to either resign or be impeached.
But the Presidency accused the Fiery Catholic Priest and Head of the Adoration Ministry, Rev. Father Mbaka, of soliciting for contract from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Further, Presidency claimed that due to refusal of President Buhari to grant contract to Father Mbaka, he decided to turn against the President whom he had been supportive even before 2015 General election.
Garba Shehu, presidential aide in a statement said: ” An outsider distilling the avalanche of verbiage, will be surprised that after supporting the President two times to win the Presidency, Father Mbaka has made a complete U-Turn, preposterously asking President Buhari to resign or be impeached.
“Here is the point of departure: Father Mbaka asked for a meeting and to the shock of Presidential Aides, he came accompanied by three contractors.
“The President graciously allowed them in, and to everyone’s surprise, Father Mbaka asked for contracts as compensation for his support.
“Anyone familiar with President Buhari knows that he doesn’t break the laid down rules in dealing with contracts or any other government business for that matter. He requested the appropriate authorities to deal with the matter in accordance with laid down rules.
“Inside the Villa, discretion prevailed, that if those pictures and requests were made public, the followers will turn against the religious leader. None of it was released. Now, this is what is eating Father Mbaka.”
