After a tough 90mins kick by the University of Agriculture, Markudi (UAM) Tillers and its opponent, University of Calabar (UNICAL) Malabites in the 2018 Standbic IBTC sponsored Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL) finals, the UAM tillers won the Hifl cup, defeating their opponent 5-4 on penalties to emerge champion of the 2018 Htfl.

The 2018 Hifl which is the maiden edition of the collegiate games was played today at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

The champions of the league, UAM Tillers have in their team the highest goal scorer, Ebuka Odenegu who was also the captain of his team scored 8 goals in total.

In the tough final, Charles Ufot of university of Calabar (UNICAL) emerged as the man of the match while Ebire Abiodun of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) emerged as the man of the match for the 3rd place match.

Earlier, OAU Giants defeated UNILORIN Warriors 3-1 to place third in the collegiate competition.
