The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), has redeployed three directors, 23 other staff within the rank of assistant directors and below in continuation of its reorganization for efficient service delivery.

In a notice of movement of supervision directorate and redeployment of directors made available to Journalist today, NAICOM’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Rasaaq Salami, said “all transfers are with immediate effect.”

Salami explained that further to efforts aimed at repositioning the Commission for better service delivery, management of NAICOM has announced the following changes in the leadership of the directorates and departments.

With the development, the erstwhile Director of Supervision, Mr. Olufemi Oba has been deployed as the Director of finance and accounts; the director of Inspectorate, Mr. Barineka Thompson, has been appointed the Director of Supervision; and the Director of Authorization and Policy, Mr. Pius Agboola, is now the Director of Inspectorate.

Further changes made by the Commission include the appointment of Mr. Leonard Akah, who was the head of Corporate governance, as the Acting Director, Authorization and Policy; Mr Ahmad Adamu, formerly the head of Enforcement and Compliance, as the new Head of Compliant Bureau; Mr Monday Farina Adaji, formerly head of Inspectorate, Lagos as now head of Internal Audit; while Mr. Kamal Barde, previously head of Internal Audit, as Assistant Director, Supervision.

It would be recalled that the Commissioner for Insurance, Mohammed Kari, said that the Commission would not leave any stone unturned in efforts to reposition it to play the regulatory functions in the nation’s insurance sector.
